The UAE’s electronic music scene has a new leader, as Ibiza Global Radio 95.3FM launches, supplying a more cutting-edge and pioneering sound to the UAE audience.

Internationally regarded as a trailblazer for the electronic genre – and a music-led culture more than a radio station – Ibiza Global Radio has been brought to the region at a critical time for the currently paused nightlife and events industry, as misplaced partygoers look to virtual resources to fuel their musical escape, and the emirates’ reputation as a world-class clubbing destination remains strong.

“It is time the UAE was home to a radio station to reflect and direct the huge demand for electronic music that exists here,” says Theo Makris, Managing Partner at Ibiza Global Radio UAE.

“The current musical offering on our airwaves includes largely ‘safe’, chart-topping tracks, leaving a large void for the vanguard club tracks of tomorrow so many are looking for in this region.”

And Ibiza Global Radio’s emergence is about more than just pressing play on the world’s most refined electronic music, to be absorbed by educated UAE ears. The station’s incredibly passionate team places just as much importance on becoming a platform for local and rising talent, and uniting a community of likeminded producers, DJs and listeners, as it does on curating an exceptional track list.

The first in a series of cherry-picked and soon-to-be-revealed Ibiza Global Radio UAE presenters is Clint Maximus, who will host the ‘Morning Sounds’ show, daily from 6am to 10am. Born in the UK and raised on the exotic islands of the Seychelles, Clint’s music career spans 25 years and includes a Grammy nomination for Best Remix of the track ‘Hold On’ by JES, along with his globally-recognised radio show ‘The Edge’ – which has surpassed 800 broadcasts across 30 global stations. Clint’s DJ portfolio includes sets at Ministry of Sound, Beirut’s B018 and The Castle Club in Cyprus, and he has shared the stage with the biggest names in electronic music, including Major Lazer, Avicii, Tiësto, Paul Oakenfold and Markus Schulz.

Ibiza Global Radio UAE broadcasts without interval on channel 95.3FM and will feature exclusive sets and interviews from international electronic heavyweights including Maceo Plex, John Digweed, Claptone, Sasha and Defected. The schedule also includes a long list of local DJs, with weekly shows and mixes coming from the likes of Frederick Stone, Jixo & Danz, Hoolz and Naswari.
